"Things do not change: We change"-- Henry David Thoreau, Walden
Motivational Interviewing is defined by the authors of the approach, William Miller, PhD, and Stephen Rollnick, PhD, as "a client-centered, directive method for enhancing intrinsic motivation for change by exploring and resolving ambivalence".
This is a highly practical and applicable approach to working with clients in any area of mental health, addictions, health education or health improvement.
Motivational Interviewing training and supervision has been offered by Cathy Cole since 1995. She is known for her ability to work with clients from any clinical setting. Cathy is in the forefront of providing Distance Learning as well as Onsite Training in MI.
In addition to training, Cathy publishes a monthly e-newsletter to introduce professionals to MI concepts and to refresh the learning for those already practicing in MI.
